In Search of the Truth
Proof by repeated assertion is a proposition which is repeated ad nauseam until objections are no longer voiced; thus the expression, “If you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth”. Often prior recitations of the lie are even cited as evidence that it is true.
The problem is, that as lies become institutionalized as “mainstream thought,” the truth becomes very unpopular. Even in Jesus’s time there was controversy surrounding the truth as Jesus was supposed to have said that the truth will set you free. Do I dare ask what the truth was suppose to set you free from? The only conclusion that one can draw from reading the scriptures is that the truth wasn’t self-evident and so most people weren’t aware of it and perhaps didn’t even care to know.
Jesus taught in the rabbinic teaching method which frequently used parables. However, the masses in biblical times were mostly illiterate and they couldn’t have been expected to understand the sophisticated concepts that were preached by Jesus. Even Jesus’s own disciples, as the Bible clearly illustrates, could not interpret the teachings of their master. As a result, Christianity would become based on the limited understanding of his disciples (see The Gospel of Judas). Back then, the secrets of man’s relationship with God was strictly reserved for the very few enlightened ones who were considered worthy of such knowledge (like Jesus) and those secrets were passed on through what was referred to as the Mystery Schools. Down through the ages, those secrets have continued to have been passed on through secret societies. However, even today, religion is still taught to the masses using the same surface stories from 2,000 years ago (or more).
Advancements in science have recently shed new light on topics related to the origins of man and many scientists now embrace the concept of Intelligent Design. This has moved the needle away from Darwinism and more towards God, as the prime creator. These scientists would say that the universe can be traced to intelligence at the sub-atomic level. In other words, the 3rd dimension (the physical world) was created by a non-physical world/dimension where our laws of physics don’t even apply. Further, when you then have interaction between the two worlds, synchronicities are created – some of which might be described as miracles or as acts of God. This gives new meaning to Jesus’s saying that the Kingdom of God is within.
However, we must always remember that as a physical species we are very flawed (intentionally designed that way no doubt). Man’s limited physical senses, combined with his innate lack of spiritual awareness, has never given him the proper tools with which to properly perceive reality. Despite this, man in his arrogance has developed belief systems which have attempted, in vain, to define the unknowable (God).
It’s easy, even convenient, for someone to take another person to task for daring to speak the truth. Human nature being what it is then, most people would rather accept existing belief systems than to step outside the control matrix and suffer the slings and arrows from the masses who are forever inside. As a Greek philosopher once said, “Nothing exists except atoms and empty space; everything else is opinion”. As a result, the world has become cluttered with opinions. Even faith is an opinion and is an indication that we have given up searching for the Truth.
“The only true wisdom is in knowing that you know nothing (at all)”.
