I published a post entitled Government By Emergency Powers about a month or so ago.  Now it seems like everyone is talking about it. What’s the emergency anyway?

So, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) has announced that she would like to legislate that the President can no longer declare an emergency. Apparently, she thinks that she can just legislate against presidential actions.  What ever happened to separation of powers anyway?  I can only assume that AOC thinks that she is already the president or perhaps she just loves the spotlight or, perhaps, she just hasn’t heard that a high-ranking Democrat Adam Smith, chair of the House Armed Services Committee, has admitted that the President has the authority to declare a national emergency and have the military build a wall along the southern border.

Actually, Democratic Congressman Joaquin Castro had an interesting spin on the separation of powers issue.  He was quoted as saying, “…such a baseless declaration by President Trump would set a dangerous precedent regarding the constitutional balance of powers between the executive and legislative branches.”  The problem is that Congress already gave the president that power…and boy did they! After all, where were all the Democrats when then President Obama declared untold emergencies that didn’t exist. I guess that the Democrats don’t mind if one of their own declares a “baseless” emergency but heaven forbid if the opposition party does it.

In an article in Breibart, Liza Goitein of the Brennan Center for Justice, a progressive public policy institute, was quoted as saying that, “… President Donald Trump’s declaration of a national emergency could allow him to take money from Americans’ bank accounts, shutter radio stations, and unleash biological agents.” The problem is that Trump doesn’t even have to issue such a declaration of national emergency because Barack Obama already has…and no one said a peep. Fancy that. Worse, the national emergencies are still in effect years later.  As the Washington Examiner reported, ”…few Americans realize they have lived under nearly 30 states of national emergency for most of their lives. Emergencies come and go, but emergency declarations remain. The oldest national emergency still on the books was declared by President Jimmy Carter during the Iran crisis 40 years ago.”

Let’s just cut the crap. This isn’t about whether or not the border wall constitutes a national emergency because according to a recent Gallup Poll 42 million people want to immigrate to the U.S. just from Latin America/Caribbean alone. Forty-two million, with their kids; over 100 million people in all. So, what’s the plan if there’s no wall – open borders?

It’s all about the politics folks.  Yes, the Republicans don’t represent their constituents any more than the Democrats do and, yes, the Republicans are just as corrupt. The biggest difference that I can see is that the Democrats are more irrational when it comes to supporting their political positions. How else can you explain Nancy Pelosi saying with a straight face that border walls are immoral although she supported border walls under Barack Obama and, of course, it’s okay for Nancy to have walls around her personal residence to keep the riffraff out.

Here’s the real emergency, politically speaking. Barack Obama envisioned the end of the U. S. A. Republic.  To that end, he declared a bunch of national emergencies whereby he gave the President, any president, dictatorial powers.  However, he planned for Hilary Clinton to inherit these powers, making her the Queen in effect. Problem was – she lost. Trump became President and he inherited the throne.  So, AOC wants to undo it all? Of course she does, after all who wants Donald Trump to be King? Perhaps, now, you can understand what the fuss is all about.

So, the Civil War rages on.

Major developments on Capitol Hill often happen in public but without the public’s awareness. For example, Obamacare was passed without the public or Congress knowing exactly what was in the legislation.  As they say, the devil is in the details.

The government is currently operating under a variety of declared national state of emergencies. Thirty-one in total. These declarations pre-empt the Constitution. In fact, they make it permissible to carry on what would normally be considered to be illegal activities or activities that would otherwise be considered to be unconstitutional.

For example, since September 2001, the United States has been operating under a state of declared war following the 9/11 attacks. A state of war, you understand. A state of war still exists today and this allows any U.S. president to use U.S. troops without the approval of Congress (think Afghanistan, Libya and drone attacks on just about everyone).  In addition, the secretive War on Terror continues although the public rarely hears about it. Sure, these adventures are generally accompanied by major public relations campaigns to convince the public that military force is justified. Not from a legal standpoint because that was never needed, but rather from a political standpoint. Thus, all the lies about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. After all, they didn’t want another Vietnam protest in the streets of America.

Fast forward to January 3, 2019, when bills HR24 and HR25 were introduced into Congress (actually reintroduced).  Nobody has talked about them, but they could be passed by Congress at any time without any fanfare. HR24 requires an audit of the Federal Reserve, which is important in as much as the Federal Reserve is not part of the U.S. government. It is actually owned and controlled by foreign citizens and foreign banks(corporations) and incredibly we allow them to dictate U.S. economic policy.  Because of their power to shape the U.S. economy, we have a serious national security risk occurring in the broad daylight.

HR25 is perhaps even more newsworthy. It calls for the elimination of the I.R.S. Like the Federal Reserve, the I.R.S. is a non-governmental body which is controlled by foreign entities.  As a result, U.S. tax collections are sent overseas (think the Vatican).  In addition, the bill calls for the elimination of the federal income tax (which is probably unconstitutional anyway).

And if Congress were to refuse to pass such legislation, Trump could just declare another National Emergency and implement them anyway. Today, CNN reported that the White House is in the process of drafting a National Emergency Proclamation to provide funds to construct a wall on the Southern border.  Here we go again.

The impeach Trump rhetoric is a smoke screen for the real reason that the Democrats don’t want Trump (or anyone else) in power. In reality, the fight in D.C. is about who has the right to use these national state of emergencies, and with it near dictatorial powers.  Then, there is the matter that the U.S. is no longer a republic.  Hasn’t been since 1871. We’re a corporation! It’s a dirty little secret that you’re not supposed to know about…but now you know.

“The corporations that profit from permanent war need us to be afraid. Fear stops us from objecting to government spending on a bloated military. Fear means we will not ask unpleasant questions of those in power. Fear permits the government to operate in secret. Fear means we are willing to give up our rights and liberties for promises of security. The imposition of fear ensures that the corporations that wrecked the country cannot be challenged. Fear keeps us penned in like livestock.”

So much fuss over a wall. What is the average person suppose to make of it all? To wall or not to wall, that seems to be the question.

In order to understand this issue a little, one really has to look at what the politicians don’t say as opposed to what they do say. So for example, Democrats universally oppose the use of government funds for construction of a wall.  That’s their current public position as we all well know. However, what they don’t tell you is that they have either voted for a Southern border wall and/or publicly supported the financing of such a wall prior to Trump being elected. This group includes Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi and Elizabeth Warren, among many others.

As for Trump, he says that we have a crisis at the Southern border and that we must build a wall. That’s his public position as we all well know. Trump has mentioned several times that if the Democrats don’t give him the funds, he may have to invoke a national emergency. That’s closer to the real reason, but what does that mean?

Here’s what he’s not saying, though. It’s not about the money.  It’s not even about the wall, although politically Trump is committed to the building of such a wall.  The overarching reason is that the wall represents a rationale for the public to support the declaration of a national emergency.

So, why does Trump want to declare a national emergency? Well, technically he doesn’t have to as the United States has been operating under a declared national emergency due to an executive order which Trump signed back on December 20, 2017. However, this is just the tip of the iceberg, to wit:

  • The United States has been operating under a state of declared war since September, 2001, following the 911 attacks. This explains the strange questions that Senator Lindsey Graham posed to Judge Kavanaugh during Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing; questions about military tribunals that would only be relevant if the United States was currently in a state of declared war.
  • On March 21, 2011, Barack Obama sent a letter to Speaker of the House John Boehner in which he said the military assault against Libya was authorized by the United Nations Security Council.  This was an attempted explanation of why Obama committed American forces to the war in Libya without the approval of Congress.  Approximately one year later on March 14, 2012, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta testified during a Senate Armed Forces Committee hearing and further explained that Obama’s actions were because the United Nations and NATO had supreme authority over the U.S. military forces.
  • On March 16, 2012, President Obama issued an executive order entitled “National Defense Resources Preparedness.” That executive order gave the President the authority to take over all of the country’s resources (e.g. labor, food, industry) as long as it is done for reasons of national defense.
  • On July 6, 2012, President Obama issued an executive order entitled “Assignment of National Security and Emergency Preparedness Communications Functions.” That executive order granted the President absolute control over all U.S. media, including social media, news networks and news websites.

If you’re not already in a state of shock yet, consider this. The President (any president) has at their disposal almost dictatorial powers as a result of the various executive orders signed by then President Obama.  In addition, the National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal 2102 codified into U.S. law the authority of the President to imprison indefinitely, anyone, including American citizens, deemed to be a “terrorist threat” to the United States, without trial or due process. Anyone who the President deems is a terrorist, you understand.

And you probably thought that you were living in a republic.

The palpable panic inside The Beltway is because these dictatorial presidential powers have now been transferred from who the Deep State intended would be president, Hillary Clinton, to an outsider. The resulting chaos in Washington is…well, you can only describe it as Civil War.
