The Fabricators

Political campaigns seem to bring out the worst in politicians (and the media). Nearly every story seems somehow fabricated.  Today’s headlines tell the story:

Headline: Beto Makes Bizarre Claim That Trans Woman of Color Can Be Murdered With Complete Immunity

Comment: Desperate people do desperate things when they’re losing.  But who cares, since Beto isn’t long for the presidential race.

Headline: MSNBC Anchor Said There Is No Evidence Biden Pressured Ukraine, But Biden Admitted To Doing So In 2018.

Comment: Biden’s campaign is in serious trouble over this issue so the MSM is circling the wagons to protect him.

Headline: Democratic Rep. Vicente Gonzalez Wants Answers Regarding Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, and Ukraine

Comment: Even some Democrats realize there is a serious problem.

Headline: Democrat Slams Ocasio-Cortez’s Fracking Claim: We Do Ourselves No Favors When We Ignore Science

Comment: And we do ourselves no favors when we manufacture bogus claims like this one.  Even the Democrats are objecting.

Headline: Newly-Hired NYT Reporter Accused of Fabricating Accusation Against Another Reporter

Comment: And now they’re doing it to each other.

Humor of the day

Headline: China Listens To The Public: Mike Bloomberg Says Communist China Is Not A Dictatorship

Comment: Last I checked, they were still in the streets protesting in Hong Kong. At least, the ones that the Chinese army didn’t arrest.

The fabricators: Beto, MSNBC, AOC, New York Times, Michael Bloomberg. Don’t you just love politics?

Humor of the day:

Headline: Overdue Tax Bill For Ocasio-Cortez’s Failed Business Remains Unpaid

Comment: You shouldn’t propose increases in federal income taxes when you haven’t even paid your own taxes.

There’s really nothing to comment on today except impeachment. Impeachment this, impeachment that. So, are we headed for another Bill Clinton moment?

Politics has always been about blaming the other guy and that is about to be proven in spades. Both sides will be bringing out all the dirty laundry, and no doubt, there will be blood in the aisles before it’s all over. The interesting thing is that an impeachment of Trump will not be concluded in time for the 2020 election. Therefore, perception will be everything and fake news will abound.

Here’s the impeachment headlines:

The whistleblower

Headline: White House Whistleblower Didn’t Have Direct Knowledge of Trump Communications

Headline: I Was Not A Witness To Any of It – Whistleblower Complaint Released To Public

Comment: Yeah, it was only hearsay, but everyone still treated it as if it was the real deal. In any event, it accomplished the objective of getting the fake news industry going.

Headline: IG Says Trump-Ukraine Whistleblower Had Bias In Favor of Rival Candidate

Headline: Trump-Hating Whistleblower Based His Complaint on Anti-Trump Fake News Media

Comment: I’m shocked (not).

Headline: New York Times Outs Ukraine Whistleblower As CIA Officer

Comment: That’s relevant because of what Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer said about Trump taking on the intelligence community ala JFK. Said Schumer, “Let me tell you, you take on the intelligence community, they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you.”

The political maneuvering

Headline: Rep. Schiff Fabricates What Trump said In Ukraine Telephone  Call Transcript

Headline: Adam Schiff Claims His Blatant Fabrication of Trump Quotes Was Parody

Comment: Nice try, but they don’t call you “shifty Schiff” for nothing.

Headline: Kevin McCarthy To Force Democrats On Record Again With Impeachment Inquiry Vote

Comment: Pelosi doesn’t want Democrats to vote publicly (on the record) for impeachment, but Republicans do. Boy, is the world upside down.

The hypocrisy

Headline: Top Dems Colluded With Ukraine Government To Interfere in 2016 Election

Headline: Democrats Wrote To Ukraine in May 2018, Demanding It Investigate Trump

Fake news corrections (already)

Headline: ABC, Axios Correct Stories About Trump and Ukraine

Comment: Of course, hardly anyone ever hears about the retractions.

The strategy flips

Headline: Ukraine President Confirms “Nobody Pushed Me”

Comment: With the release of the transcript, everyone realizes that there was no ‘quid pro quo.’

Headline: Trump Doesn’t Need To Commit a Crime To Be Kicked Out of Office

Comment: So, the conversation quickly changes to impeachment without a crime ever being committed.

Headline: Democrats Reveal The Real Purpose of the Impeachment Investigation

According to a Democratic strategist, “Looking at impeachment as a process for removing the president is the wrong way of thinking about it… But keeping him under investigation, at least through the November election, will increasingly erode the support of both Trump and the Republican party brand, making a Democratic takeover of the Senate and the White House, and an increased control of the House even more likely.”

Comment: It better work because your political careers are at risk.

The defense strategy

Headline: Democrats Want To Impeach Trump For What Biden Did

Comment: Mirror, mirror on the wall, who does the best mirroring of all.

Headline: RNC Calls on Joe Biden To Follow President Trump’s Example and Release Transcripts of Calls To Ukraine Pertaining To His Money Laundering Scheme

Comment: Of course, that’s never going to happen (at least until the impeachment hearings).

Headline: All Eyes On Ukraine: Deep State and Hillary Operatives Worked With Ukranian Government To Take Down Trump

So, it’s all part of the Deep State coup (see my prior post “The Coup Is On”).  You can, therefore, expect that any impeachment hearings will include Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton and many world leaders to try to explain, or lie, to the American public about what really happened in the shadows. It’s going to be quite the show.

The Toxic Media

The news these days is not only fake, it’s become toxic.  Cable TV news ratings for CNN and MSNBC are still plummeting and a new poll found that 95% of the public were troubled by the current state of the media.  The following headlines tell the story:

Headline: Robin Pogrebin Admits To Writing That Now Deleted NYT Tweet About Brett Kavanaugh, But It’s Still Your Fault For Misunderstanding Her Intent

Comment: Well, I didn’t misunderstand anything.  The tweet was quite obvious.  It was a deliberate smear.  Deliberate because Pogrebin knew that the tweet was not true. Why? Because Pogrebin left out the most important information, information which exonerates Kavanaugh, and the information in question is contained in her own book which she has recently written about Kavanaugh.  Hasn’t she ever heard of the term “exculpatory evidence?”

Headline: NYT Kavanaugh Authors: It’s Fair That We Should Have Included Witness’ Left-Wing Ties

Comment: Ya think? But, of course, you didn’t, did you?

Headline: Kamala Harris Calls For Kavanaugh Impeachment, Says The Fact That Something Has Not Been Proven Doesn’t Mean It Didn’t Occur

Comment: And that’s why we impeach people, folks. Because if Kamala Harris believes that something is true, then it’s true. It’s a different spin on Joe Biden’s “ We choose truth over facts.”  Besides, as a former prosecutor, I’m sure that Kamala is intimately familiar with the Rule of Law. Right, Kamala?

Headline: Can’t Make This Stuff Up: Women’s March Board Replaces Anti-Semites With Jew-Hating Military-Bashing Jihadist

Comment: Linda Sarsour is out because she was a public relations nightmare for the Women’s March. After all, how can you have a co-chair for women’s rights who believes in Sharia Law?  Unfortunately, they replaced her with another anti-Semitic person who also calls for Sharia Law. So, when is the public going to wake up to who really runs the Women’s March?

Tagline: Of course, Linda Sarsour landed on her feet.  After the Women’s March dumped her, she was hired by Bernie Sanders. Does anyone wonder why Bernie hired a virulent anti-Semite who hates America?

Another Q Anon

Well, now we not only have one Q Anon, we have two.  How wonderful.

An anonymous source who supposedly works on the White House staff supposedly wrote an op-ed piece for the New York Times. I say, supposedly. MSNBC ran with the story without verifying it and interviewed Steve Schmidt, a campaign strategist by profession (in other words, a political hack). Given that an anonymous person had just publicly attacked a sitting American president, Schmidt took the liberty to do a complete butcher job on him.  At least, he labeled himself for what he is, a member of the Resistance.  While I don’t doubt that there are people working on the White House staff who don’t support Trump politically, I seriously doubt that this anonymous person is real.  It’s simply a way to vilify the president for political gain.  How convenient.

So, now we have two Q Anons when one may be one too many.  However, perhaps, this was simply an indirect way of discrediting the other Q Anon. Whatever. That’s why I rarely comment on politics.  Hats off, though, to the New York Times for running a creative story even if it was fake news, although that’s why they have become just another failing media institution.

America At War

The falsification of history has done more to mislead humans than any single thing known to mankind”. Jean-Jacques Rousseau

Winston Churchill supposedly said that history was written by the victors. I guess Rousseau would have agreed with him. The point is – history contains a lot of fake news.

Let’s take another look at the current left vs. right political conflict which has been characterized by extreme partisan politics. While it’s true that the two diametrically opposed camps don’t like one another (to say the least), you now have one side identifying themselves as The Resistance. Resistance to what, though, I might ask as the two parties are constantly either in or out of power.

Because of the polarization of the respective political positions, a number of commentators have said that it appears that civil war may be inevitable. I believe that statement may be true, although woefully incomplete. Here’s why.

I think that it would be more appropriate to view the American Revolution as a defining moment in world history that represented the triumph of the individual over the state (and over the people and institutions that control the affairs of states). However, with the founding of the American republic, the real war was only just beginning. As can be seen from the 2016 election results, people hate losing power.

Accordingly, I would argue that after the War of Independence had been won, the Republic has been constantly under attack ever since. Some of the significant events in American history need to be revisited and looked at through the prism of America At War. For example, here’s a short list:

  • The War of 1812
  • The American Civil War
  • The Act of 1871
  • Founding of the Federal Reserve System in 1913
  • The White House Coup of 1933
  • Establishment of American intelligence operations (the CIA) under the leadership of former Nazis.
  • Establishment of the American space program (NASA) under the leadership of former Nazis.
  • The assassination of four sitting U. S. presidents

Today, the battlefield of partisan politics has moved to some strange arenas like the football field and The Emmys. On college campuses, many students are against free speech and feel that violence in support of their own agenda is permissible because it constitutes self-defense. The Occupy Wall Street demonstrations of 2011 proved that sometimes demonstrators don’t even know what they are demonstrating for. They protested against the rich who they labeled as the 1% but what they didn’t realize is that the most of the super-wealthy people in America are on the left, starting with the likes of Google, Amazon and Facebook. Further, Millennials oppose capitalism but it’s not the system that’s really at fault, but the people (including Wall Street) who run the system. Accordingly, the American system should be more appropriately labeled fascism rather than capitalism.

Now, today, we have Carol J. Baker M.D., an infectious disease expert, who said that an overwhelming majority of people who refuse to take vaccines are white people, and a good way to resolve the problem of people refusing to take vaccines is to simply “get rid of all the whites in the United States”. Of course, Dr. Baker herself is white. Given that kind of mindset and the great divide between the factions, a civil war is perhaps inevitable…but it’s been over 200 years in the making. Regardless, America is already at war.

History is a pack of lies we play on the dead.”Voltaire

As I mentioned in my last post, there was no hue and cry when President Obama imposed immigration restrictions in 2011.  However, the hypocrisy goes far beyond that, as witnessed by the following quotes:

  • “All Americans…are rightly disturbed by the large numbers of illegal aliens entering our country.  The jobs they hold might otherwise be held by citizens or legal immigrants.  The public service they use impose burdens on our taxpayers.  That’s why our administration has moved aggressively to secure our borders….”  – President Bill Clinton

  • “Even as we are a nation of immigrants, we are a nation of laws.  Undocumented workers broke our immigration laws and I believe that they must be held accountable, especially those that might be dangerous.  When I took office, I committed to fixing this broken immigration system and I began by doing what I could to secure our borders.  But today, our immigration system is broken and everybody knows it.  There are actions I have the legal authority to take as President…The actions I’m taking are not only lawful, they are the kinds of actions taken by every single Republican President and every single Democratic President for the past half-century….”  – President Barack Obama

Given what President Clinton and President Obama said and did, why is there even a debate today?

Immigration dominates the headlines these days and, even though I try to avoid the news, it’s constantly in my face. So, if I must, here’s my take.

One of the key issues in the immigration issue centers around “open borders.” Every nation decides for itself on this question. Look at China and Saudi Arabia, for example. Their immigration policies are unbelievably restrictive, especially when compared to America. For a nation to be considered sovereign, it must, therefore have the right to determine who can and who can’t migrate to their country. The Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al Nahyan, has come out in support of Trump’s executive order because, as he says, the United States has the right to make a “sovereign decision” regarding its immigration policy.

Aside: Even Saint Thomas Aquinas understood that principle when he expounded on the subject in his seminal work, the Summa Theologica.

The truth is that in the context of recent world-wide immigration, diversity doesn’t work. It doesn’t work, in part, because immigrants have to want to assimilate. However, Muslims, in particular, are adamant about not assimilating. For example, a vast majority of Muslims in the UK have said that they consider themselves to be Muslims first and UK citizens second. Sharia Law, which is incompatible with Western culture, then becomes a major roadblock to assimilation. As Lee Kuan Yew, the former Prime Minister of Singapore, said about diversity, “In multiracial societies, you don’t vote in accordance with your economic interests and social interests, you vote in accordance with race and religion.” This should serve as a warning to all counties, but especially America.

Aside: To all the women protesting against the current immigration restrictions, perhaps you should go talk to the women of Europe, particularly in Sweden, who have seen rapes committed by Muslim immigrants skyrocket through the roof. You should ask those women if immigration is a good thing or not.

On a more practical note, America does not have an overabundance of resources. In fact, it’s basically bankrupt with the national deficit sitting at over three trillion dollars annually. Moreover, there are not enough jobs to go around and as a result there are some 41 million people on food stamps. Therefore, for every new immigrant there is one more person added to the unemployment rolls. So, for all of you who are promoting immigration, I suggest that you volunteer to give up your job for a new immigrant. I suspect, however, that no one will take me up on that offer, now will they?

What is really hard to fathom for some is that the immigration protestors never objected when Obama imposed similar immigration restrictions back in 2011.  Maybe, it’s because most of the protestors today are left-wing ideologues and opposing Trump’s immigration restrictions is in reality a political ploy to marginalize and demonize political opponents. Ain’t politics wonderful? That’s why I try to avoid the news whenever possible; so much of it is Fake News anyway.

Fake News

The topic of so-called Fake News is prominent in the headlines these days. However, it’s just one person’s opinion as to whether news is fake or not. After all, one man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter, right?

So, what if anything should one make of the furor over Fake News? Most of the debate seems to center around the mainstream media vs. certain alt-right internet sites. However, differing opinions are in reality not necessarily differing viewpoints. By that, I mean that some opinions are in reality based on ideology, ideologies that often do not require proof. These ideologies are the result of agendas of control which are not interested in the truth, but rather only in the promulgation of the ideology itself.

Aside: Perhaps, the American people have already decided this issue since the mainstream media’s approval rating has fallen to around 6%. More to the point, when you lose credibility your ideology suffers (i.e. you lose elections).

Beyond the obvious debate concerning the media, there is a less obvious example with regards to ideology shaping the world that we live in. I’m talking about one of my favorite whipping boys – science. As philosopher Paul Feyerabend put it, “Thus science is much closer to myth than scientific philosophy is prepared to admit… it is inherently superior only for those who have already decided in favour of a certain ideology, or who have accepted it without having ever examined its advantages and its limits.”  Yes, even in science, any process inherently begins with a person’s ideology.

A couple of well-known scientists who admitted to what Feyerabend said about ideology are Edwin Hubble and Richard Lewontin, as follows:

Such a condition would imply that we occupy a unique position in the universe…The hypothesis cannot be disproved but it is unwelcome… Therefore we disregard this possibility…. the unwelcome supposition of a favoured location must be avoided at all costs…. Such a favoured position is intolerable…Therefore, in order to restore homogeneity, and to escape the horror of a unique position…must be compensated by… spatial curvature. There seems to be no other escape.” – Edwin Hubble, astronomer

“Our willingness to accept scientific claims that are against common sense is the key to an understanding of the real struggle between science and the supernatural. We take the side of science in spite of the patent absurdity of some of its constructs, in spite of its failure to fulfill many of its extravagant promises of health and life, in spite of the tolerance of the scientific community for unsubstantiated just-so stories, because we have a priori commitment, a commitment to materialism.  It is not that the methods and institutions of science somehow compel us to accept a material explanation of the phenomenal world, but, on the contrary, that we are forced by our a priori adherence to material causes to create an apparatus of investigation and a set of concepts that produce material explanations, no matter how counter-intuitive, no matter how mystifying to the uninitiated. Moreover, that materialism is absolute, for we cannot allow a Divine Foot in the door.” – Richard Lewontin, geneticist

So, is it theory or is it fact? Is it real or is it fake? How is a person to know? Maybe, we should just play another one of those videos from physicist Michio Kaku. He wouldn’t lie to us…now would he?

One needs to keep in mind that things are rarely what they seem. In reality, it’s the people crying Fake News who are the ones putting out the Fake News. It’s a strategy taken right out of the playbook of Saul Alinsky. Of course, that’s just one man’s opinion, isn’t it? No doubt some would even claim it’s Fake News.
